We are a minority, women-owned small business founded in 2016 by violinist Nistha Raj, a dedicated and passionate performer/educator with over 18 years of teaching experience.
Nistha started teaching privately in the Washington DC area in 2007 and in 2016 founded Soulfege Music Studio to provide other talented music teachers with the opportunity to meet the growing number of students and at the same time expand offerings in various instruments.
Teaching with patience, encouragement, and passion are the key elements of our studio and approach to working with students of all ages. Our lessons emphasize rudiments, proper technique, and musicality throughout the learning process to help develop all aspects of mastering an instrument. Above all, we aim to create a fun and low-pressure learning environment for our students to thrive in. Nistha personally selects each teacher that joins the Soulfege Music Studio faculty ensuring they share the same core values about teaching. Our experienced instructors hold music degrees from top conservatories and universities, and are chosen for their outstanding teaching ability, passion, enthusiasm and patience.
