April 1st – April 30th 2022
We’re challenging all of our students (and teachers) to really up their practicing game! Our students had the chance to participate in our Fall practice challenge last year for 21 Days, this time we are asking everyone to practice for 30 days!
**We think this practice challenge will help our students prepare for our upcoming recital!
Learning music is not easy. It requires a certain amount of work & dedication to get better. We’re always impressed with our students’ progress, and know that they work hard to constantly improve!
And now we’re challenging our whole studio to be even better! We’d like to see if you can dedicate some time EVERY DAY over the next month towards your musical practice!
Practice every day for 30 days straight.
· For kids, practice at least 15 minutes every day.
· For teens and adults, practice at least 30 minutes every day.
Nope! It has been proven that ‘practice cramming’ as we call it, does not work. The point of this challenge is to get yourself to practice more regularly. Shorter practice sessions approached more often have been scientifically proven to be much more effective than combining weekly practice into single longer sessions.
Anything you like! Scales, exercises, songs (old, current and new), your own music, improvise, etc. A handout will be provided with several suggestions for what you can do during your practice time and for any days that you might be away from your instrument.
Practice is an integral part of learning music. There is no way to progress or get better at music without spending time on your own learning, analyzing, and rehearsing each day. We want to highlight this important part of learning music in a fun and exciting way with a fun Studio-wide challenge! Committing to a daily discipline helps us develop our inherent gifts and develop resilience to help strengthen our character and reach our life goals. Some goals we have outlined for this challenge include:
1. To build a consistent practice habit.
2. The student sees and feels the success that consistent practice brings.
3. To feel motivated and inspired to keep practicing once the challenge is completed.
Besides the obvious intrinsic rewards, all students who complete the Spring Practice Challenge, get a certificate and an entry into the draw for the giveaway (Gift cards for two random winners).
It’s easy to participate! Start practicing and keep track of your daily practice by marking each day off on the provided chart. Send us a copy of your completed chart at the end of the challenge by text or email and you will be entered in the draw for the gift card.
To motivate and inspire us through the journey, parents can take candid pictures/videos of their kids practicing and send them to us to be shared on our social media or on their own social media using the hashtags #30daysofpractice, #soulfegemusicstudiopracticechallenge – we would love to see all our students caught practicing! Teachers can share videos of their practice sessions too!
